Using some reclaimed red brick (quite soft and powdery) in a kitchen area close to sink and cooker. Does anyone know suitable products for sealing the brick to avoid the dust spreading (without changing the asthetic)
Something like "Thompsons Water Seal" will seal the brick; these type of sealants are frowned upon by conservationists for use on old materials, but for your application I think it's perfect. Be aware though that any type of sealer will make your brickwork look a shade darker in colour.
