"Seal" when replacing tail light?

Hi

Need to replace a tail light for an Almera hatch (it's a complete "cluster" type thing) and I got the light from a breakers.

Haynes manual mentions something about using a seal - any idea what exactly this is or where I could get it? Is it like the types of seals you get for house doors/windows etc?

They may be referring to a rubber gasket, but from [broken link removed], looks like some adhesive sealant is used. A clear high-grade silicon would probably do the job.
