Hi,
Last month, we recieved a grant payment from SEAI for insulation work carried out. On thursday we got a letter to say we had been selected for audit. Has anyone had this done, and what does it involve? Its a domestic house.
Thanks,
Geri.

The audit is just to establish that the work was actually carried out. It is mainly to check that the contractor carried out the work properly to the required specification.

It is a good thing. It is a free of charge service to you and it will ensure that the contractor has carried out the works to the correct standard. If any faults are found, they will make the contractor return and correct the failures at no cost to you. The contractor will also receive penalty points for their failures.

Thank you for your replies. The inspector was supposed to come today, but requested to re-schedule to yesterday. He arrived and had a good look around. He said everything seemed fine. I suppose we won't officially hear if everything is ok until he reports back to SEAI. They contract this work out.
