Screwfix own brand

Just an update which perhaps might help slow learners like myself, having two saws when doing a big job is very helpful, been using the cheap Chinese saws as a trimming saw and it's great , big Stihl I bought goes through branches so quick, it sort of gets away from you

Bought a black Friday deal Stihl for €850 on Friday, not a pro saw but top model before you are in to pro , makes mince meat of anything compared to the budget €250 saw

What a cheap snide comment ,Who said I don't have PPE ?
And why it needed to be posted twice is anybody's guess...
Dewalt fan myself, but no qibbles generally with Screwfix brand.

I'm wondering though if you could borrow / hire what you need. €250 for one off use seems a lot to me.

Don't forget your PPE.
Also for anyone else in the market - it will make mincemeat of you just as quick. Allocate some of your budget for decent PPE.

Nothing snide about it; quite striking that you chose to read it that way.

You're not the only person reading this thread; as I clearly referenced.

And you know what? Its worth saying a third time - chainsaws can be extremely dangerous, get the best PPE you can.

Do you always engage in such high handed finger wagging ?, I spent €200 on PPE, head guard including ear protection, trousers for cutting and gloves, already had heavy duty boots

I started the thread to get some ideas about saws ( not PPE which is essential regardless of what saw you use ), I've learned there are a very large menu of options out there, I see now that a lighter saw like the Chinese screwfix house brand is perfect in conjunction with a stronger powered saw, for pruning and trimming lighter branches, it's a gift

Still not sure what level of work warrants buying from the pro category as opinions vary but I bought the biggest domestic model but not a pro

Will there be a one carefull previous owner secondhand chain saw sale next spring ?
Yes and it won't be the cheap Chinese one as it's perfect for future little chores

Just a suggestion however, the domestic class S391 I got is only €140 cheaper than the MS362 which is a pro
