Sit back & wait for his brothers, sisters, cousins etc to join him! I rekon everyone who ever got wooden floors down can remember the "first" scratch. There will be loads more like it & actually can add to it's character.
I was getting some furniture delivered & they gouged a few fine scratches in a maple floor where they dropped the furniture . You can get kitchen countertop repair kit. I got beech coloured & it filled up the marks & it just looks like part of the grain of the timber now .
