Schools in Arklow

Hi,

One of our friend has bought a house in meadowvale estate in Arklow and would like to know about some good schools nearby to send her little boy. She has found 3 schools nearby ST joseph's NS, carysfort NS & Scoil Naomh Peadar. If anyone has got any opinions about these schools could they please let me know.

So has my bro & wife...

They enrolled my nephew into Templerainey - St. Josephs. It's a very very good mixed rimary school.

The mixed Gaelscoil is chockablock as they've no room to expand @ the mo so I don't know what the story is with places there

Carysfort NS is mixed Church of Ireland & priority goes to the CoI kids first

St. Peters in Castle Park is a boys only NS but I've not heard anything about it

St Josephs - very good mixed R.C. school, good resources. But its at the other end of town from meadowvale, and getting across the bridge can be a nightmare, likely to get much worse once shopping centre opens. Gaelscoil - new colaiste announced last week, both primary and secondary will be sited directly opposite Meadowvale, woth considering as secondary schools for boys is the problem in Arklow, not primaries. CBS numbers dropping rapidly and unless something drastic happens probably won't be around for when junior needs to go. Only other option is a (v good) VEC school.
