I know its usually 1st Sept, but this is Wednesday this year. Will the schools start then or will it be the following Monday morning (6th Sept) or the previous (30th August) ??
My son's Primary and Secondary schools have always started on 1st September when it falls on a weekday (even when it has fallen on a Friday) They usually take in the Year 1 students a day early to acclimatise them to the building.
According the Dept of Education, the school year normally starts in the week that the 1st Sept falls on, but schools can decide for themselves once they meet the minimum number of days, and obey the rules on holidays below.
Unlikely that they will be able to start on the 6th Sept and manage to fit in allt he days required.
