Hi all,
I am employed on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday (9:00am to 5:00pm).
I have just been scheduled for surgery in September (general anaesthestic) and will be certified off work for one week.

Presently I have only 2 days annual leave left (the surgery was not expected). I believe my employer is under no obligation to provide payment for sick leave.

Is there any benefit or entitlements that I qualify for, for the remaining 3 days of that week?
I have researched the question but have got very conflicting advice from people. All help appreciated, thanks.

Your contract of employment should clarify.

Do you mean that you have checked out the different illness related payment schemes on www.welfare.ie? What conflicting advice have you received?
