Just seen the attached in an ezine from my Institute. Revenue must be moving with the times!! I would however wait until the ebrief has issued.
Revenue has confirmed that purchase invoices and other paper documents received by the taxable/accountable person may be stored electronically. Business may implement the measure retrospectively. Records must be retained for 6 years but a business may begin in December 2010 to electronically store the records for the previous six years. Full details of how records may be stored electronically will be detailed in an eBrief to issue in the near future.
