My husband is on jobseekers allowance.
A relative has passed away and left us some money. We were planning on putting it away for the kids future in their names. What are the implications for us as regards our benefit? Do we need to tell and if so will our payments stop while we are reassessed?

Yes, you DO need to disclose it. Whether it affects your "entitlements" depends on how much you received, in addition to your other savings and income. check citizensinformation.ie for the limits.
 
Thank you, It says 20,000. Is that per person or between a married couple?
