Can anyone recommend a SatNav system for use on Irish roads?
Apologies if post already exists on this.

Not a lot of info around on them so far on AAM. Hopefully you'll be able to help add a little more.
This thread has a few suggestions worth looking at if your in the market for one.

Huge amounts of info available on the net, but the first hand feedback is always a lot more comforting.

I've been using Destinator 2006 with Q1'06 maps for a while now.

Pro's
1. Is very up to date with roads / new housing estates etc.
2. Has a aversion to traffic lights, so tends towards rat runs!!
3. Well loaded with POI (points of interest)

Con's
1. User interface not the most intuitive

my dad has the tomtom system in his camper - he swears by it.

i've had a play with it and it talks to you when you have junctions and stuff coming up and displays the map and your exact location all the time. if you take the wrong turn it even tells you and offers an alternative! looks very good and seems to have even the back roads on it. you can download maps from their website too i think.
