Sanding Window Ledges

Time to repaint the window ledges as paint is peeling

Were originally white but painted over them in a chocolate colour..dont ask

Is it better to sand them down first to the bare brick and then paint them
again

Any ideas welcome any ideas that would save the even better labourous task

Just scape away all loose paint with a paint scraper and paint over, two or three coats will have them looking good again. Use a good quality exterior paint such as Dulux weather shield or Sandtex.

Problem seems to be that the white paint is gloss and the new paint wont stay on. Did a first paint now have to do another one when I get a chance
