Samsung s10 to aux

Have an Skoda Octavia 08 model . I want to be able to run my phone Spotify though the radio . Rather then buying an expensive android auto car stereo can I plug an aux cable from my phone to the car . Anyone try this with any success ?

I know my kid has a dongle that plugs into the car radio that the phone broadcasts to... Not sure if it's Bluetooth or radio technology. I can check
