Samsung Home Cinema System

Anybody have this system or any views on it? I'm looking to spend around €400 on a system for my living room

I have the HTQ20, which is basically the same, but with different speakers (not on stands).

So far, I am very happy with it.

There is USB input-unfortunately most of the MP3 players that will work with it are also Samsung, but I was able to pick up one with 2GB of memory on e-bay for €55 all in. You can then use the DVD remote to manage the content on the MP3 player.

There is also a wireless option, where you can buy a SWA-3000 wireless kit and thus you don't have to plug the rear speakers directly into the DVD player.

I paid around €230 for mine in Dixons. The wireless kit wasn't cheap-around €200 delivered from the UK.

Hi Guys,

I have this exact system.

I can recommend it - very easy to use & great sound.

No connection to Samsung

Thanks CCOVICH I am now another €190 worse off

No problem .

I found these guys kinda frustrating to deal with, but they came through in the end-the piece of kit is very hard to come by, depsite the fact that Samsung mention it in every production description of the HTQ2X home cinema systems.

Just got the system yesterday. How do I get the sound from the Sky box to come through the speakers. Is it just an audio lead from the box to the dvd player?

I can't remember how I did it-but you need to buy an extra cable (unless you have one already). I will look at my set up and post back if no-one else enlightens you.

Got the cable required. Am I better to bring it from the sky box to the dvd player or from the TV audio out to the dvd player or does it make any difference?

if you have a Sky+/HD box then you can take advantage of the optical audio out, provided you have an optical audio in connection on that Samsung kit. This is the only way you can get through 5.1 sound from Sky. Its mostly some of their movies that feature surround sound.
