If you have say 200 shares and they are currently 90c each and you want to sell them via online trading account it gives you and option to sell them "at limit"

If i set the limit to €1 does this mean they wont be sold under €1 each or does it mean it wont sell them if they go over €1 on the stock market?

Thanks

a limit order is an order to sell when it reaches the price you decide on . in the case above one euro

If the the current share price is 90c and you want to sell then set the limit to say 88c or 89c so if the price goes down they will be sold at no less than your limit. Also if buying then do the opposite, set limit at 91c and they will be bought for no more than that

This limit price can be above or below. As per you example you can;
1. request a limit order for E1 >> so they will be only sold if the price oes above E1
2. request a limit order for 80c >> so shars will be sold if the price touches 80c
3. Request whats called a "One Cancells Other" order (OCO) >> where you leave both the above orders and as soon as once triggered, the other one is automatically cancelled i.e. you sell at E1 or 80c

Regards
