Sale agreed before an offer is taken seriously?

I hope to trade up from a terrace house in Dublin 7 to a detached house in Dunshaughlin.

We've recently been approved for a mortgage. Our house is not yet for sale but we hope to meet estate agents this week and put it on the market ASAP.

We've found a house in Dunshaughlin that we really like. We need to sell our own to afford the new one.

Will an offer be entertained if our own house is not ale agreed? Houses are selling very quickly around in Dublin 7.

It depends on the seller of the Dunshaughlin house I guess. And how quickly offers are made on that one...

I'd imagine that a vendor would consider any offer but would not consider accepting the first offer they get.

Having said that we don't know their circumstances they may have their eye on another and will accept an offer that would close quickly (usually a cash offer) and move to get the contract to close quickly.

You can make the offer but can't sign contracts until you have sold your own. Best of luck with it.
