Sailed in the Adriatic, off Croatia. Flights to Dubrovnik are handy and Split via charter. Amazing. Done it twice. You will need a formal day skipper minimum qualification to charter a boat on your own though. This can be done over a week at home if you are competant to start.
Highly recommend a sailing holiday. Absolute freedom, literally going with the wind where and when you choose. There is a lot of work involved but the most rewarding, refreshing and exciting holidays I have ever had.
