Ryanair are now saying that they will pay "reasonable" costs for people "stranded".

What does "stranded" mean?

If you were living in Dublin and were due to fly from Dublin and your flight was cancelled are you expected to return home rather than overnight in an airport hotel?
If you lived in Wicklow and were due to fly from Dublin are you expected to return home to Wicklow than overnight in an airport hotel?
If you live in Donegal and were due to fly from Dublin are you expected to return home to Donegal than overnight in an airport hotel?

Does "stranded" only mean stranded abroad?

Nobody knows. Nobody.

Or,rather, there is disagreement amongst airlines, consumer bodies etc. It may end up in the courts -irish or European - as to what "stranded" or "reasonable" means.

I think the logic is that you can never be stranded with Ryanair , as they only do one way flights.
