I'm looking at flights at the moment to Liverpool...one from Dublin, one from Shannon

The PSC-Non Refundable charge from Dublin is €16.95 yet the same charge on teh flight out of Shannon is only €5

The Ins & Wchr Levy is .79 out of Dublin and only €4.98 out of Shannon.

I can't find any inforrmation on their site relating to these charges and as to why they are different from one airport to another. Anyone know?

The charges on both categories are the same on the return legs for both airports

Don't different airports set these charges unilaterally?

Presumably the return charges are the same because both return flights originate in Liverpool?

Dublin is a busier airport and puts its landing charges up correspondingly while Shannon would try to keep their landing charges as low as possible to attract more business.

You ever wonder why the budget airlines don't fly in or out of Heathrow; the landing charges would not make it financially viable as they are much higher than e.g. Luton or Stansted
