Ryanair - changing outgoing leg of return flight

Hi there, I asked this a week ago on a relevant thread but had no response, so have started a new thread. I hope there's someone who can help.

I want to change the outgoing leg of a return flight, but to buy a new one-way, outward bound flight would be a lot cheaper. I've heard that Ryanair treat both legs as separate, but was wondering if anyone can confirm this? I don't want to find that my return flight's been cancelled due to my no show on the originally-booked flight...
Many thanks for your help :)

With Ryanair they are completely separate flights so there is no problem with booking a new flight and just not turn up for the original.

@callybags, thanks for your quick reply. Just to clarify, I still hope to use the return flight from the original booking. You're positive this won't be cancelled due to my no show?
Thanks
Em
