We are interested in taking a Ryanair flight to Beauvais but not to go to Paris. Are there any interesting places/towns that we can access from Beauvais airport that might a nice midweek break? We will be using public transport.
Beauvais itself is a cute little town. It has one of the largest gothic cathedrals in Europe (although it was closed for repairs when I was there two years ago). Also north of Beauvais is Amiens; with its massive cathedral and its hortillonages (sort of river gardens) http://www.visit-amiens.com. That’s about it really.
