Ryanair baggage costs - both way??

Hi all,

Just discovered that when you pay for your bags online you have to pay for them twice - i.e. going over and coming back. There was no sign on the Ryanair website of a note about this when I originally paid for the bags while making the reservation but a friend was made pay €12 for her bag on the way back from a holiday.

Why don't they just say, one way bag costs €9, return costs €18. Why hide it?

Anyway, has anyone experienced this??

"The Baggage Fee may be prepaid at the current discounted rate of €6.00/£5.00 per item of baggage/per one way flight when making your reservation. If the Baggage Fee is paid after you have made your booking either at the airport, or through a Ryanair call centre, at the full rate per item of baggage/per one way flight is charged."

I've paid it several times and have always been aware of a charge for each leg of the journey.
