Ryanair and Aer Lingus vouchers

Folks if you have flight vouchers for say 300 euro and are booking a flight for 200 do you loose the value with Ryanair and Aer Lingus or does the balance stay on the same voucher number to be used again ? Thanks

From memory, I had a gift card from Ryanair and only used part of it and the balance remained.
