Russian Foreign Policy

European Powers are working on a 5-10 plan to replace the US in NATO. Should we be part of a EU + UK Defence organisation?

I think we should. We can't defend our own airspace or waters. It would be a tough sell though.

The RAF entering our airspace seems to be more of an issue for some than a Russian plane.

The party that imported weapons and had it's own army will be against militarisation. There are other parties that believe any issue can be solved with solidarity, flags and shouting through a megaphone.

The Brits will be back in the EU within 5 years - this whole Ukraine issue is their perfect way back in..

Why? Trump's efforts will inevitably fail and he will blame the Europeans for undermining the deal. He'll use that to drop out himself.

Steve witcoff basically rubbishing starmers plan for a European peace keeping force in Ukraine. Trump is going to have to face reality soon and putin also, there will be no peace deal without a guarantor force in Ukraine, Ukraine will not accept any deal without security guarantees. How long can Trump continue on this road of caving into putin, the republicans are not happy about this approach either,

Yea, but he's a Trump lackey so he would say that.

Either the EU+ steps up or Ukraine is screwed. Ukraine is almost certainly screwed.
How long can Trump continue on this road of caving into putin,
As long as he's in office. He's ideologically more aligned to Putin than he is to democracy.
the republicans are not happy about this approach either,
The Republicans are gone, They've been replaced by the Trump Party. Think the Soviet Communist Party after the Stalin purges. Things will only change after Trump dies and he's quite healthy so that could be a ling way off. It's also possible that another Beloved Leader will emerge to take his place.

It was revealed today that the US national security leaders “accidentally” included the chief editor of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg in a group chat about then upcoming military strikes in Yemen.

Vice President Vance, national security adviser Mike Waltz, deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe were among the 18 officials in the Signal chat.

They discussed detailed military information, which if accessed by the wrong people would have endangered the life of US military personnel.

Trump, typically, denied all knowledge of the incident and rubbished the onetime Pulitzer prizewinning publication, The Atlantic.

Geniuses!

If Ukraine was screwed it would have folded like putin believed in 2022, but that never happened, it is now one of the most capable armies in the world.
The French mirage jets are doing slot of damage to Russian positions, so trump is not the only guy with cards in this , putin always over plays his hand. In reality putin should be taking everything trump is offering now but the Russian strong man thing is preventing him. That's a key Russian weakness they can never admit weakness and lie about their capabilities. We never knew how weak the soviet union was until it collapsed. The old soviet guys , bresnev and andropov were living in denial, just like putin is now

I do really hope you're right.

Sometimes a picture paints a thousand words.

At least 34 killed after Russia missiles hit people celebrating Palm Sunday in the city of Sumy.

Russia must not have hear the ' ceasefire ' message from Trump as they seen to have stepped up the bombing since...

At last Trump has put down an ultimatum to putin , either enter into a ceasefire by end of april or face heavy sanctions, but really he needs to be ramping up lethal weapons deliveries to Ukraine thats the only thing Putin understands
