Running Costs between 1.6 and 1.8 litre engines?

Just curious....are there significant running costs associated with having a car such as a Nissan Almera 1.8 litre as opposed to a Toyota Corolla 1.6? I realise road tax will be more for the 1.8 but, apart from that, does it cost a lot more to run the Almera?

Road tax will be more. Insurance won't be a major difference unless you are under 25.

The main other thing to check the is mpg in both cars.

Any idea what the mpg is on the Corolla and Almera, assuming all other things being equal? How about the Ford Focus?
