Rumbling noise when steering

My 05 Renault Laguna has started to make racket when turning corners. When I am turning out of a parking space or taking a sharp left or right, I get a thumping/rumbling noise. Apart from that the steering appears to be OK. No noise from steering under normal travel conditions - just when taking sharp corners etc. Anybody got any idea what this might be? NCT is due soon and just wondering if it needs to be looked at.

I'd suspect either a wheel-bearing or part of one of the drive-shafts. It'll have to be attended to.

sounds like the c v joint you will see one here [broken link removed]
its the joint on the end of the shaft that drives the wheel.not really a diy job unless you know what your at,

Could be steering pump. Pray it is, because if its the steering rack ur in trouble.
