Did anyone else notice tha RTE has stopped giving the results of Grand Prix meetings now that they dont have the rights to show it. BBC dont show them either but always have the grace to give the result and show the finish. Noticed this for the first time last week after the Monaco Grand Prix, depending on your view but probably one of the most glamourous and high profice sports event anywhere in the world. Not a mention. Zilch. So on Sunday after the European Grand Prix in Germany, which had a dramatic last lap, I tuned into RTE for the news and sports. Usual suspects, Soccer, Gaelic, Golf,Racing, Tiddlywinks, Pitch and Toss, pass the parcel etc but no Grand Prix. Talk about petty!!. As a licence holder I should probably complain about this but my attidude is stuff them and their petty mindedness , just cause someone else took their ball they dont want to play,

You know what, I watched the Monaco Gran Prix, and I've only just realised that I watched it on Setanta and not RTE.

I was in bed and reading at the time so I wasn't exactly glued to it. I've pretty much ignored the last two seasons of Formula 1 after being an avid follower for years. Not because of Ferrari dominating, just 'cause it's now boring to watch.

This season is much more exciting. I had become disillusioned during the past two or three seasons but this year is certainly providing some entertainment. Mind you as a Jordan fan I don't get much chance to cheer<g>

Had noticed the same thing as Cuchulainn re RTE sport. However, I use it to my advantage. Anytime I miss the race live now, I know I can watch the news in peace without worrying about hearing the result and watch the race repeated later that night on Setanta or UTV.

Since when has F1 been a sport? It's really just a competition for engineers, like Robot Wars on Channel 4.

you'll be telling us next beach volley ball with two babes with gorgeous asses isnt a sport either!! I support Williams for what its worth.

oh to be a grain of sand - shakespeare could have wrote that , to misquote morcambe and wise.

Cu,

RTE did something similar last year when Setanta got the TV rights for the Celtic League, on Monday nights RTE had a rugby programme (Against the Head) and it never once mentioned the Celtic League - despite the fact that some week-ends this was the biggest rugby attraction available.

Grin and bear it is all we can do.

Noticed that last night rte sports mentioned canada qualifying and tonight gave results and also showed 2 seconds of finish. The power of AAM!!
