RTE Radio 1 - News @ 1 coming on at 1:10.....

I notice yesterday and today that the News on RTE seems to be coming on at ten past the hours (after Tubridy) and after Ronan Collins....I know it's not earth shattering but just wondering what's behind this (having checked my watch and PC settings several time to assure myself that I haven't lost the plot compeletely.

Agree with you that it's annoying, but it falls into line with the custom of delaying the 12 noon and 6 p.m. news for the medieval practice of ringing bells to frighten off the demons.

In the seventies, the Liam Nolan Hour on RTE radio was so popular that they extended it to two hours and never changed the name of the show. Laughable.
