RTB notification on rent increase

Hi, I have a number of properties rented, during this time I have increased rent while conforming to the RTB requirements/RPZ. I noticed when last I went to do the RTB form instructed me to let them (RTB) know (through a form) that I was increasing the rent. I have never seen this before and have never notified them of such increases in the past. I am hoping this is a new requirement?
 
thanks a lot for your reply- these have been recently updated, I am asking about the requirement to notify RTB prior to recent change. Then you only had to notify the RTB if an exemption was being sought in relation to rent increase above 4 % or so it seemed however want to know of there was always a requirement to notify the RTB of a standard 4 % rent increase?

What are the implications of not notifying RTB ( did not realise requirement) but rent increase procedure was otherwise followed correctly.
