Hi
My husband is on RSS which he's getting payment for me and the kids. l decided to go on the jobseeker allowance. At first we had approached the welfare inspector and he said l will be able to get half of ja without my husband losing his payment for me. We asked him twice to make sure that it was right. When my husband told his boss on the RSS about this, he said no that incorrect, he will lose. So now we don't know who's right. l didn't get paid yet and we are mean tested.

l tried to google it and l'm not finding any answer
Can anyone help us here as we are confused about it.
All we want to know is who's right, the welfare inspector or my husband's boss?

Thanks for the link Gipiman but it doesn't give an answer to my question.
l do understand the rest like working, mean test etc but l just want to know does my husband lose his payment for me when l go on JA. l don't want to ask the welfare inspector again, we had asked him 3 times and last time he was very annoyed. He keeps saying my husband won't lose it
I suppose l will have to wait till l hear from the social welfare.

There's a paragraph at the end of the page which refers to changes in circumstances and how it might affect RSS.

If your husband was on jobseekers, and you signed on, his jobseeker's payment would be reduced - effectively part of his payment would transfer to you.
