DavyJones, to be perfectly honest I'm not 100% sure - I just let him get on with it. One of these guys with 50+ years experience (retired engineer) - with him I feel it's a hobby that he happens to get paid for.
He's a bit of a perfectionist so I'm thinking it was done 'the right way' - also he confirmed that using taps etc won't affect the shower.
