Before I worked out that I couldn't turn my computer monitor on its side (well, not easily) I took a good few videos with my digital camera in portrait mode instead of landscape.
The result is that everything plays back on its side. I know that most .JPG editors allow clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation to fix this problem with still images, but I haven't come across any for .AVIs.
The first on - FadeToBlack - is just the business.
I rotated a load of stuff tonight (cooling fan went bananas for ages with the load) and it was great to see it the right way up for the first time in ages.
One other question - there are a range of codecs available for re-encoding (since it doesn't support writing in the codec which is native to my camera) but I have no idea which one is more 'standard' than the others.
It supports the following -
cvid - Cinepak codec by Radius
iv32 - Intel Indeo v3.2
iyuv - Intel IYUV
msvc - Microsoft v1
iv41 - Intel Indeo v4.5
iv50 - Indeo v5.10
Can anyone suggest which one is more (or less) likely to be available on most modern OS's ?
