Is an employer in catering required to let his employees know their working hours ahead of time?

My employer only produces rosters at about 7pm the night before the roster begins ie. if you are working Friday until 6pm you might not know your hours for the following day until you phone in after 7pm.

I have searched Oasis and Enterprise and Employment but can't find anything. Is there a regulatory body which specifically covers catering?

Has anyone any ideas on this?
