For those of you who were used to the ROS offline procedure, it is no longer available for 2022. You must use the ROS prepopulated form.

I was not aware that this has been there for the past decade!

Here are the notes I made while completing it.

Log into ROS
Complete a Form Online
Select a tax type - select Income Tax
Select a type – Form 11
Click on

This name is misleading. You are not filing a return. You are getting a prepopulated form, which I presume you will file later?
Select the period for which you wish to file – 2022

Click Next to proceed

You are opening a return that has been pre-populated from Revenue records and on details from your previous return where available.
You must visit each panel of the return that has been pre-populated and ensure the values are correct. You will be unable to submit this return until you have visited these panels.
Pre-populated panels are denoted with a yellow tick, illustrated below.
Certain information, for example PAYE details, Social Welfare payments, Relevant Contracts Tax payments, for this year will be provided in the relevant section of the return. These details will assist you in completing this return.
Please note, the Form 11 return is a self-assessed return, therefore you must validate all values on the form to ensure your return is accurate.
If you do not wish to use the pre-populated return, you can press the "Discard" button below. Otherwise press "Proceed" to open the pre-populated return.

Click on Proceed

This brings you to the Personal Details bit and you fill them all in

At the end of each page, you have

I am just pressing Continue.
But should I press Save from time to time?
Is there a danger that I will lose all my work if I timeout?

The procedure has changed for 2022. In previous years, you had to download a form off line and then complete it and upload it.

Now you go into ROS and complete a pre-populated form. It seems better.
Hi Brendan

The prepopulated Form 11 form has been on ROS for most of the past decade.

I haven't completed a Form 11 on ROS Offline since 2017.

It has preopulated the form with my income from 2021 which is a bit disconcerting.
But I suppose that it shows where I should put the figures.

Is there any online help or documentation that explains the Save and Continue buttons? Maybe it's like Apply and OK in many user interfaces where OK usually implies/subsumes Apply (any changes made)?

Not sure.

I just Saved a few times as I went along.

I took a break and all the figures I had entered were there when I logged back in.

This online system is far better than the old system of filling in a form offline.
