Road tax on imported car

I have tried to find the answer to this from previous posts, no luck.

If I import a car from UK which was first registered in the UK in April 2007 where the emissions are 135g/km and the engine size is a 2.2 litre diesel (a Honda Civic), what will the road tax be ?

Will it be 150 euros a year, because of the emissions ?

Or will it be 820 euros a year because of the engine size ?

In other words, do the new or the old rules apply?

Thanks.

2007 will be hit with the high tax on engine size.

Only cars registered from Jan 2008 get the co2 tax rates.

I am 100% sure on this

100% cc rates on motor tax for you.
you will pay the rate for a 2.2 car at 820e per year.

cant believe , we are still getting that q from people,, no offence, and at least you are asking before you import

Not that suprising clonboy

Lots of ads and dealers have said older the 07 cars on new tax once registered.

I corrected a dealer recently and got Oh yeah I think your right.

If car dealers don't know the score by now then the ordinary public won't

Although I doubt the dealer was as unsure as he was letting on.

Vrt works on emissions, but tax will be on cc's for cars registered before jan 2008
