Ripping out about 20 M Sq of tiles. Is there an easy way?

Brut force? Once I get one up surely they will pop up handily enough?

It's black grout too so I think it will be ultra messy....

It should be easy. I got rid of a load of both floor and wall tiles last year.

Get a masonary hammer, chisel and safety goggles (not googles! :D) and away you go.

go to hire shop get a Small kango hammer with a wide blade You should fly through it in no time.

hi, A few years ago, I took off all tiles (4 walls) with a very wide chisel ( I think it was called a cold or cole chisel) The blade was about 4 or 6 inches wide. The whole tool was one piece of metal. Ask in a hardware. Be careful not to take plaster off with the tiles and make sure you wear goggles and gloves.

You never said if it was wall or floor tiles you were removing but if its black grout then I presume its floor tiles. It all depends on how well the tiles bonded with the floor. The tiles may pop up very easily but it can also depend on the type of adhesive that was used to lay the tiles. Also taking up the tiles can be the easy bit its removing all the adhesive after is where the hard work is.You just won't know until you start the job.Type of grout that was used will make no difference.
