Rights when airline change flight time?

Just got an e-mail from aer arann informing me that they are changing the time of a flight I had booked with them for a journey in January, they are bringing it forward by an hour, as i will be coming in on another connecting flight i won't now be able to make their flight. Am I entitled to a refund?

been through this before with them unless they have changes there t and c
 
I'm afraid you're not entitled to a refund.

You have booked two separate flights without paying any of the charges for a connection between them (airlines charge more for connections, sometimes on their own flights and almost always between other airlines (unless they are in the same alliance!)).

Aer Arann have given you timely notice of the change of their schedule. That it all they have to do.

If you had booked both flights together, say through a travel agent, then you would be entitled to re-routing, exchange or refund on the whole ticket.

Having said that, as pointed out above, I'm also not sure that Aer Arann do connections any more.
 
I got a Ryanair change of flight recently and they gave me the option of either cancelling and getting a refund or accepting. OP can you take the refund and use an alternative mode of transport?
 
Connections shouldn't come into it here.
It doesn't matter why it doesn't suit the OP to change. As far as the airline are concerned, s/he might be getting a bus from somewhere to the airport, s/he might be in work that day and now will not make the earlier time.
If you buy something and then the seller changes it, then it becomes 'not as described' in my opinion, and should be refundable.
Did the email say anything about what to do if it didn't suit? Did you ring and ask them? You've certainly nothing to lose by asking for a refund.
