Riga for a long weekend in March or April has anyone been?

I am thinking of booking a long weekend in March or April for 4 of us in Riga. We would be interested in some sight seeing and some nice food and bars nothing hectic but some where with a nice athmosphere. Any advice welcome also any recommendations on places to stay. Thanks in advance

The Old Town is nice but very small. The rest of the town is fairly grim looking to be honest. There are loads of little bars and places to eat all over the old town. Has a reputation as a stag party destination but can't say I noticed when I was there (December time)

Radi un Dragui (or something like that) is a good hotel in the old town.

I was there in Feb 06 with friends and we stayed in hotel riga which was very central. We enjoyed it but stayed in the old part of town as we only spent 2 nights there so didn't have a huge amount of time to explore further.

If you do a search for previous threads on riga, I wrote a few details on it, memory is a bit patchy at this stage!
