RFID blocking sleeve

I've recently received a Visa Debit contactless card.

I've read these can be remotely skimmed - is this the case and is a blocking sleeve similar to the one linked below required?

The risk is low that skimming will occur. No major need for such a sleeve like that.

I disabled the contactless option on my card in TSB

There has been a number of stories about this in the press in recent months, most of which are panic fuelling garbage. You can't just scan a card with a POS terminal and automatically get paid, the scammer would also need access to a merchant account with a bank for the funds to flow into. I'm not saying it can't happen but it is extremely unlikely and you are far more likely to have your card copied at an ATM with a camera or a corrupt retail member of staff using a device on a POS terminal in a shop and watching for your PIN number when you key it in.
