Correct, it doesn't apply in that way - the points are converted 1:1 into airmiles and deposited into whatever airline programme you request.@Tea-eis - I guess that this rebate issue does not apply to the miles offer?
Can i ask - once the revpoints (which i think expire after 3 yrs) are converted to avios points, how long before they expire? For anyone wondering about speed, I transferred Revolut points into Avois yesterday and they are in my Aer Lingus account this morning.
The rules are different for each airline frequent flyer programme. For Aer Lingus, they expire after 3 years of no account activity. Can i ask - once the revpoints (which i think expire after 3 yrs) are converted to avios points, how long before they expire?
If you haven't already, recommend taking a look at rewards.aerlingus.com to see can you buy that seat as a reward flight instead of using the points for a discount on a full-price ticket. If they have reward seats on the day you want to fly, it should better value than using them for a discount. My observation is the relative value that this Revpoints thing actually gives me. I use Revolut for pretty much all my day to day expenditure and have the metal plan which costs me €15.99 a month. My monthly cashback used to more or less cover the cost (the cashback was capped at the monthly fee). But in the last couple of months I’ve accumulated about 30,000 points which is giving me €170 off a flight that I was going to buy anyway.
Thanks. Didn’t even know about that!If you haven't already, recommend taking a look at rewards.aerlingus.com to see can you buy that seat as a reward flight instead of using the points for a discount on a full-price ticket. I think so. I'm really keen to throw some money into it as I can't see any other option that give me anything close to the value of the RevPoints, but I just have so many fears about Revolut's awful reputation for protecting their customers. I see I can turn on a selfie verification to withdraw for cash held in Pockets, but don't know if I'm confident that's even enoughWith the upcoming reductions in Revolut interest rates, and probably further cuts down the road, this will become a more interesting proposal.
But what woukd be your plan to use points? Just airline points? Are revpoints then really only good for those that fly a lot?I think so. For me, it would just be for flying, particularly ultra-long haul business class, which is where the sweetest spot is for air miles. Air miles are hard to come by in Ireland relative to other countries, so this is quite a unique proposition in this market. But what woukd be your plan to use points? Just airline points? Not the OP, but only yesterday I checked a one-way flight to Venice for next September and it was 6,500 avios plus taxes and charges. On Skyscanner, it was €148.Can I ask you Tar Eis, what would 30k RevPoints equate to in airmiles/flights? AerLingus is 1 of the airlines thats listed which is good.
