Hi All,

Just looking for some advice on the use of gravity locks for wheelie bins.

An elderly relative is having problems with not so nice neighbours adding their rubbish to his bins. Not 100% sure but we think his black bin went over weight allowance recently because of this.

Greyhound appear to supply gravity locks but at approx. €45 (without fitting) per bin. With 3 bins this would be too expensive for an OAP.

If we were to fit an ordinary lock they would still have access after lock removed for collection purposes.

Has anyone used a gravity lock on their bins and if so were they successful? Anything cheaper than the Greyhound one available?

Thanks.

€36ea when ordering 3 here. I haven't used them myself, but have heard they work well.

You could also get a https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neos-SmartCam-Vision-Camera-Warranty/dp/B07JY7K3SZ/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=neos%2Bsmartcam&qid=1587632620&sr=8-3&th=1 (cheap motion activated camera) and point it at the bins to record exactly what is happening.

Maybe just get the waste bin done for now, that’d be the most likely to be abused.
