Reus Airport to Barcelona City - any advice?

I am flying to Reus next week and staying in Barcelona, near Las Ramblas.

Has anyone any advice regarding getting from Reus to Barcelona? We fly from Knock so won't make the 1pm bus from the airport and the next one is not until 4pm.

We have been advised to get a taxi from the airport to the train station and pick up the 14.37 train to Barcelona Sants.

Has anyone done this or found any problem with it?

Arriving at one in Reus is about the worst time for a day time flight as regards getting to Bcn.

You were given the best advice.

You can't even use the airport-station bus no.50 which leaves at six mins past the hour and gets to the station at half-past-the-hour. Too dodgy for the 14.37 train. Regrettably you have to use a taxi to the airport. BUT....

.. If you are just two people and find one other couple going to Barcelona then the cost of 120-140 euros will come to 30-35 each. Well worth the hassle of taxi- train-taxi(or long walk) in BCN, and you'd get to your hotel two hours earlier.
 
Many thanks for this advice - I would not have thought of sharing a taxi but we will definitely consider it.
