Returning to work part time - How much net pay?

HI there,
I hope i am posting in the right section.
I am currently on maternity leave, just receiving the social welfare payment of 280.00 per week.
I am in discussions with my employer and am hoping to go back part time on a 2.5 day week.
My salary will basically halve from 54,500 to 27,250.
My husband's annual gross is 40,000.
can anyone advise what to do in relation to transferring tax credits - should mine go to my husband? If I were to do that, how much would my net pay be taking into account prsi, levies and PAYE?

Also, at the end of the year, will I be able to reclaim tax already paid given that I was not working for 6 months?

Thanks.

I wrote a calculator (uploaded at taxcalc.eu/monthlyss) which you might find useful for answering this question.
If you download it but can't figure out how to use it, feel free to send a PM to me here and I can provide additional assistance.

In respect of allocating credits etc the following sums it up.

"
The joint assessment (or "aggregation") option is usually the most favourable basis of assessment for a married couple. This option is automatically given by the tax office when you advise them of your marriage but this does not prevent you from choosing any of the options examined earlier. Under this option, the tax credits and standard rate cut-off point can be allocated between spouses to suit their own circumstances.
If only one spouse has taxable income, all tax credits and the standard rate cut-off point will be given to the spouse with the income.
If both of you have taxable income, you can decide which of you is to be the assessable spouse. You then ask the tax office to allocate the tax credits and standard rate cut-off point between you in whatever way you wish. (The PAYE tax credit, employment expenses and the increase in standard rate cut-off point of €27,400 in 2009 (€26,400 in 2008) are not transferable).
