Hi
as per my previous post, I have just taken voluntary redundancy from work. I have been advised that I should sign on for job seekers allowance in order to retain my stamps / PRSI entitlements, as otherwise I won't be eligible for PRSI benefits in the future, including a full old age state pension.
I do not want to sign on as I am not seeking a job, nor do I want to claim money that I am not entitled to. However, I really do want to maintain my PRSI entitlements and ensure that I retain my right to a full pension on retirement - I have paid a lot of tax over the last 15 years, and so don't want to lose the benefit of this, if I can help it.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can retain my PRSI benefits or if I lose them, what are the short term and long term implications of this.
Thanks again for advice.
