hi
we are staying in the burlington friday wk, just wondering what nice restaurants are in the area, middle of the road ones, nothing too expensive.
Also how far is it from henry st and temple bar?

Thanks

You have three good choices for food: Upper Baggot St.; Ranelagh; and Donnybrook. All are within walking distance and have everything you need (Ranelagh would have the greater choice). You’re also just a short bus / taxi ride away from St Stephen’s Green / Grafton St.

There is also Rolys in Ballsbridge which is lovely (but always packed so you will need to reserve)

2nd Rolys, must take a trip out there myself soon.

3rd for Roly's.....very dissapointed not to be able to get in for lunch yesterday.....it's about €23+10% service for a fab 3 course lunch. All the food is top notch. Ended up going soewhere else, cost about €15 or €16 for 2 course of VERY average food.

Chex Max have opened recently on Baggot Street (opposite Tesco in basement), ovely food, very good value

The Canal Bank Café is right across the road from the Burlington ... their chicken wings are fantastic!

Eatery 120 in Ranelagh is great and pretty reasonable... you'd walk it in 15 minutes from the Burlington

Enjoy!

Also in Ranelagh and well worth checking out is the Pinocchio Cafe under the Luas station. [broken link removed] It's a bit small so you would be well advised to phone beforehand for a table.

46A is a very regular bus service that you could get to westmoreland street and o'connell street no need for a taxi. walking to temple bar is just over 20 minutes.

The Canal Bank Cafe is lovely and just accross the road from the Burlington!

walking to temple bar is just over 20 minutes.

What do you mean by 'just over', 10 minutes ?

Burlington - Leeson Street - Stephens Green - Grafton Street - College Green - Temple Bar = 1.5 miles.

At 20 mins per mile = 30 minutes.

And it's uphill (as far as it goes) on the return.

hey
we loved the food in the canal bank cafe
and the walk to temple bar took about 30 mins (including window shopping in grafton st)!!
taxi ride home would have been better if the dublin taxi driver had dropped us at the burlington and not he berkley court!!!!!!

Nothing original to add but that Rolys is excellent value in comparison to other restaurants but I would make sure to book a table in advance.

agree with the Canal Bank - its right beside the Burlington, and if you so desire you could enjoy a nice pint in O'Brien's right across the road .... (no connection to either).
It might be worth booking the Canal Bank as it gets very busy.
