We are visiting Agadir in October. Can anybody advise on some good restaurants or bars .

In or around the western hotels on the seafront is best for international cuisine. For traditional Moroccan fare go into town but have a good look at the cleanliness of the place before dining and observe the usual caveats about raw food, salads and ice etc.

The hotels will be fine and generally have live entertainment too.

Hate to be a spoilsport but have been three times to Agadir & pubs restaurants generally there are not in the same league as the Canaries for example.I would absolutely agree with High Flier about food hygiene, ice cubes & salads. After some mistakes we ate in hotels & the Agadir Beach Club in particular had good local, Asian & European stuff. If you want Lecrivan or Chapter One there forget it although prices of food & drink are much cheaper than here.

Try local beef and lamb dishes. There are some along Kennedy Blvd and only drink bottled water (no ice in drinks). The beach club is very good, though not overly cheap, if I remember.

There are a number of good food stalls too, and try local shawarmas - only get them to forget the greens.

Get the road train type thing down to where the casinos are. There are a few beautiful restaurants down there on the corner. Can't remember the names of them but there is one in particular with a large terrace that was exceptionally good and it's a fraction of the price at home.

Along the seafront is the usual fare really. Edible but not brilliant although it isn't expensive.

Thanks For all the advice, we are looking forward to sampling the "local food".After all we are not expecting prawn cocktail , Steak and chips and apple pie and cream.

we were there in nov last year, about the only irish about i think we stayed in the green hotel, found an italian called little italy was brilliant
