Hi all,
From what I can see, is it right that I am potentially better off, tax-wise, being a non resident than a resident landlord?
Take the following scenarios
1. Working in Ireland. Earning 70k a year, euro. Renting a place for 2k. Rental income is taxed as marginal, >50%. Take home income is <1k.
2. Working in UK/non-Ireland EU country. Earning 70k a year, euro, or equivalent. Renting a place for 2k. Rental income is taxed at 20%, take home is 1600.
Am I missing something here? I know the caveat is all other things being equal in the 2nd scenario
