Reprogramming repair of Car remote

Someone mentioned a company that specialised in the reprograming/repair of Car remotes. As going to the dealer was expensive. I can't find the thread. So anyone any suggestions of who does this?

What kind of car is it? Could be a two-minute DIY job, info available online in some cases - LL

Its from a Merc, he thinks theres something broken in it as when you give it a shake/tap it works sometimes. I thought there was a thread about someone with a older A3 which had been in with a dealer for a ages trying to the key reset and some suggested some repair service.
