I have an old photo (circa 1940) which is in good condition as it was laminated. I want to get some good copies of it done. Does anyone know of a good print shop/photographers in Dublin city centre that would do a good job and not charge a fortune.

There is a guy in Omni Shopping Centre (Santry) He is very good. No idea of what he charges.

I had some large old family photos that I got done by a company in Merrion square, the were brilliant. Cant remember the name, they operated out of a basement level premises.

Seeing as its in good condition, can you or a relative whose knows their way around computers not just scan it onto a pc/laptop. Use JASC Paint Shop pro or some other phot editor to save it as a JPEG.
Put the JPEG file onto a cd or memory card and then you can just bring this to a photo shop and get them to print it.
Or if someone you know has a printer, get them to print it.
I have a scanner. If you want you can use mine if you're in Dublin.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. IanDublin - I'll give your suggestion a try and see what happens. I'll let you know if I need to use your scanner - thanks for the offer.

I have scanned many of our old family photos , Results are great for the old ones , but the quality of the cameras ( used by my family ) from the 1960s on is rubbish .
I got mine reprinted at http://www.bonusprint.ie/ , the advantage here is that they are so cheap , you can try a few variations , lighter darker , (remove colour etc. if you have Photoshop it can improve some photos that are brownish ).
