Repossesed cars for sale

Does anyone know where these cars can be got other than at Merlin.

I heard of a story (on a farming paper) recently where a farmer went to the bank for a loan to purchase a certain type of car and was told that the bank had cars on their books cheaper than you can purchase from dealers. Anyone know anything on this ?
 
there was an article in the Sunday Business Post about 8 wks ago ,where the manager offered him a land cruiser over a pajero for cheaper money. but if you go onto merlin motors auction site most of their cars and vans especially are repossessions
 
i know of a guy who wanted to take out most of his savings (about eu400,000) to purchase a crane he wanted to make a steady income just working for himself tipping around doing a few jobs here and there, bank manager asked him if he would take out a lease out with the bank for them instead and pay it back month to month, he said no obviously cos he had the money but as he walked out the manager called him back and gave him the keys to 2 apartments as a "gesture of good will" to take out the lease.....goes to show, the banks have more than a few dodgy motors on their books !!!

There is a place on the naas road called wilsons auctioneers they deal in garda siezed vehicles, ex lease vehicles and reposessions, they have an online stock list that you should browse before heading in. Looks fairly decent.
